It’s been a while since Balenciaga launched a new perfume. Christobal in 1998 was the last fragrance and Balenciaga Paris the latest inspired by creative director Nicolas Ghesquière. His muse Charlotte Gainsbourg is the face of this Eau de Perfume and she is the perfect embodiment of the character of Balenciaga Paris: Parisian, stylish and a little edgy. It’s a modern chypre smell which starts soft with a note of violets, then it becomes a bit musky, peppery and wooden and the last bit is quite creamy. It’s very nice to wear and the elegant bottle is a real treasure. Elly van Zutphen
